The TEFL Why Oh Why series

Larry Ferlazzo pointed out this series of articles by Alex Case called the ‘TEFL Why Oh Why‘ series.

I’m learning from my friends in the faculty and from my own interactions with students during reference interviews that the problems and challenges of TEFL are the problems and challenges of students everywhere, it’s just harder to communicate about those problems. With our increasingly multicultural world, the challenges of TEFL teachers are becoming the challenges of all teachers.

I like Case’s articles because they are specific in what their advocating. He talks about specific classroom management practices and planning techniques that impact teaching. He’s also good at honing in on those areas of cross-cultural communication that can become troublesome whether you’re in Korea or Qatar.
